In this hackathon we encourage teams to generate ideas and develop practical solutions which can help customers to make well informed, sustainable purchasing decisions while shopping. Both, Rimi and SEB care about Sustainability in all aspects – environmental, social and governance.

Expected result?

Developed concept with a prototype, which is either focused on physical or online shopping experience, or both. Done early tests of prototype with end-users, gathered and presented learnings.The solution should incorporate both - financial and environmental sustainability aspects, driving consumer behavior towards preferring more local goods and impacting persons financial health in long-term.

What help can you expect with the challenge?

This challenge invites students to build and develop ideas across the deep science domain. Any science related ideas are welcome, however here are some fields that are especially so suggested and might help you define your ideas:

Mentors on game development will help you with game ideas and the advise on any technologies you might use. Additionally there will be workshops on the theme of game development for those in their first steps. The challenge will also present a couple of game examples that could help you get your ideas flowing.

In the age of data our own health and habits are one of the fields where gathering information can give us direct and immediate insights for future improvements. The rise of Internet of Things with our smartwatches, heart rate monitors and even meditation apps have been blowing up in the last couple of years, however there are many more health habits that we could improve upon apart from the classical well known health habit tips and tricks. Various hospitals and research groups gather data on our patients, direct links to health habits and different diseases, nevertheless these data are not always taken advantage of.

Game development is one of the most creative and challenging fields across the tech scene. The challenge invites you to develop any game of your choice, it can be anything from a retro style game,  3D, augmented reality exploration, puzzle game or just a funny useless game showcasing something silly you had in mind. Go crazy with the challenge as the only rule here is that the players have fun while playing it!
